    Finally!!

Today I was finally able to do something I haven't been able to do for almost a year now. For the past year I couldn't draw a bow back of any kind without my bow shoulder collapsing on me. So I took one of my bows out today and was able to draw it with no pain. So you know what that means I was out the door shooting a round with my recurve. I can't put in words how nice it was to be able to pull that string back again and send an arrow downrange. I have some rust to get rid of, but I am happy as all get out again right now.

Take it slow!! Don't want to push it! Congrats and I hope you knock the rust off quickly!

Just had to loosen up the old shoulder. Keep shooting and keep it loose.

Glad to hear you can shoot again! I can't imagine having to go any amount of time without being able to shoot my bow!!!

I totally agree with that. I don't want to redo whatever I had done to my shoulder ever again. In my spare time I like building bows and not being able to test shoot the bows I have made for people has not been fun in the least. Not to mention not being able to go hunting at all this past season.

Congrats Horn Chaser! Glad you're able to be "at it"! Just take baby steps, and dont rush it! Like Bisch, I couldn't imagine going that long without shootin my longbow! But, I can sort of relate, had my shoulder (rotator cuff) surgery Dec 22, and haven't pulled a bow since Dec 21. I am SOOO ready to shoot again, but, at the same time don't want to injure the repair. So, I'll just keep with the physical therapy, and get there when I get there! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Congrats on getting back in the saddle! I'll bet you can still outshoot ol Hackworth even with you being a little rusty!

I learned a long time ago I have to shoot bad around him so his ego doesn't get hurt!! Same with building a bow mine can't be prettier than his.

I know I am going to pay for that one later!!!

I've had both shoulders reconstructed. From labrum torn off and torn ligaments to bone spurs and severed bicep tendons. Rehab was tough and recovery was long but that first day shooting the bow again was sweet.
