    Phenolic or wood riser

I am tired of switching limbs on my Bob Lee so I am going to have another riser made. Question is, should I go with another wood riser or "upgrade" to an all phenolic riser? I like the benefits to phenolic but wood has never failed me. Looking for opinions or first hand experience with phenolic risers. Thanks

I like wood better just because I think it's prettier than all phenolic but like you said the benefits to all phenolic are pretty good. You could get the best of both worlds and get half phenolic and half wood...

I did think about the half and half option. I think the solid black phenolic riser with my mappa burl limbs would look pretty cool.

Either will function fine, but an all phenolic riser is way too heavy for my liking. It's all personal preference!

Personally, I like wood. Phenolic makes a fine riser, but it is heavy for my taste.

I have a solid phenolic riser Bob Lee longbow. It is definitely a heavy bow. If you are wanting to add weight to the riser it will definitely do that. As far as going for looks nothing beats wood. Both will be plenty strong.

it all depends on what YOU want. I like both heavy and light bows. I do believe I shoot heavy ones slightly better!

I have a half shedua/phenolic 15" Bob Lee riser, with the Mappa Burl limbs you speak of and I love it. The half n half is just the right weight from the phenolic and just enough beauty from the wood. Good luck with your new rig!

Why not both? I'm working on two bows now that are phenolic and wood combined. Bocote and phenolic go really well together!!!
