Byron, somethings are truly accidental. Hope he showed you some mercy.

      Much respect for that!
Thank you for bringing it to my attention SwampRabbit and Trumpkin.
Sorry it turned out this way... again, much respect for how you are handling it.

Well, first of all...congrats on your buck. Second, kudos for doing the right thing. Hopefully he will take it easy on ya.

Briar, I applaud you for doing the right thing and calling the warden. I'd venture to say VERY few would do the same. Hope all works out well.

I was bummed when I broke my trusty Sarrels longbow a week before season. I was left with my unproven Puma recurve. It’s not unproven anymore! 11 yard shot.

Oh man, sorry to be the one who brought bad news. Good for you, calling the warden. I'll pray for leniency.

Personal best with the longbow or any weapon for that matter. I’m having a blessed season with my blueridge. Two pigs and two bucks in two weeks. This dude was ruttin hard. It took a while to get a shot because the doe kept moving around. He almost knocked another small buck to the ground. Bunch of grunts and moving back and forth. A hectic heart pounding finish to the evening. Almost didn’t go cause the temp. Glad I did. This buck was shot at 8 yards from the base of the tree and only made it forty yards. Heard him crash but still waited an hour before taking up the blood trail. I’ll say again, blessed season. Pic cuts off the horn. Only one I could get to load. He’s a nine point 20 21/2” wide with good mass. No more bucks for me in Llano county.

Great bucks guys! That’s really what I was looking for but I don’t pass axis inside 15 yards. Too many friends always asking for axis meat. Trad bows have turned me in to a kid again. I will launch at just about anything that gets close enough.
