Man that is just awesome! I'll bet he's at home right now with you and that bow on his mind. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts he's out there again hoping for some more practice. Fatherless kids have it rough at times, fatherless boys even more so. You might have inadvertently stepped in as a father figure and he'll remember it for the rest of his life.

I saw his dad pull in their driveway, then I looked again and he was gone. I said "I thought your Dad was home?" He finally spoke and said " He went back to work". Never said another word!
