My hats off to my buddy Bisch

After my last shoulder surgery I ordered a 50# bow thinking my 74# bow would just be too much after 3 operations. well as luck would have it, by the time I got well enough to shoot the 50 I could shoot my 65 just as easy.

    Last year was a mess.
cataracts got bad, couldn't see for beans.
got that all sorted out just in time for another wrist surgery.
that healed up so that some kind of rare Gout that attacked my hands to the point I couldn't open and close my hands.

I finally got that all sorted out and have been shooting my 65 about as good or poorly as I ever did but I would really like to shoot something with the 50.

I stink on ice with the 50. no tension on my bow arm, cant turn loose of the string with that small amount of string tension.

I just spent an hour fighting with it and it dawned on me that my hero Bisch fights through all that stuff and still puts on and excellent display of archery excellence.

Nothing but respect for you doing it with such a hard to shoot piece of equipment

I'd imagine it's probably fairly easy to let go of those #75-#90 strings. I'll never know but I'll take your word for it. If you want a challenge grab a sub #30 and give it a try, it'll let you know how good or bad your release really is.

Looking forward to spending time with you guys in February.

Well, you could give me that 50# bow, and then I would have a Black Widow too, just like all my famous friends!!!

And btw, the next time you see me, it will be to celebrate my birthday! [emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]

        That might be the ticket

I need to play with a 30 pound bow for a week or so then maybe I could turn loose of the datburn string

I too shot the heavy bows when I was younger....I wouldn't own one over 50 lbs now. It definitely takes some practice to get rid of the string when you shoot the heavy weights.

I have several recurves all of mine are 50#to 55# I had a Bob Lee 65# killed my fingers
but it would rip it out of your hands.

Buff, you know all Bisch has to do is close his eyes and shoot... And critters magically die, been doin it for years, kinda hard for the rest of us wannabes to compete with that! All kidding aside, hope your ailments start healing up! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

That Aoudad didn't seem to notice what bow you shot? And if half of what I hear has been true of you, then those ailments might ought to be told who they are messing with. Keep carrying that torch as long as your shoulders will hold it up.
                      God Bless.

I've had the privilege of pulling back a legendary Buff bow... and I must say, the thought "clean release" never entered my mind... it was all "*#!!$%*! this #$#!@$! hurts!"

I like heavy bows too, I like a heavy/strong anchor, and those heavy bows just come off the string nice and smooth, but my shoulder, rotator cuff, wrists, elbows, and neck is having problems, my baseball injuries have hit me hard in the past 2 months, not sure why...maybe it had to do with shooting 60# plus bows for awhile, maybe its other things....idk, hopefully I can get back their too, i loved shooting my heavier bows, I may have to have all kinds of rehab to do so though
