    Dang crimp on nocks!

I set up my shortest recurve last night for hunting from the ground in the brush. I used a crimp on nock (had one laying around) and got everything shooting well after some bare shaft tuning. Ran home to shoot a couple at lunch and was shooting great until the crimp nock flew off. In my haste I didn't write it down but I am pretty sure I remember. First project tonight after kids homework is to TIE on a nock point and get it set back up. Other than that, the old Grayling Bear Tigercat was shooting real well!

yeah I hate crimp on nocks, I now use dental floss string, helps with micro adjustments and longevity

Yeah I use adjustable tie-on nocking points and like them much.

I have a few standing invites here and there...supposed that go north for exotics a couple times but who knows. I bet we could ambush a doe or a pig north of RGC!

You are welcome to put a set up around one of my feeders if you want...I'm getting close to get'n going. Working on getting the old trailer out this weekend & the new one set next.

By mid Nov should have feeders going...I know, slack'n. Too hot.

                    Love to have ya.

Should be out there I reckon...we'll touch base so you can scout around and see which set up/ups you think will work for you.

I was confused there for a minute. I thought you were talking about arrow nocks, not the nocking point on your string.
I thought something new came out and I missed it.
Personally, I've never had a problem with the brass crimp-on nocking points.

If the nock set came off then you didn't install it correctly. I've used them for over 50 years and have never had one come off even shooting bows over 80#.

Nock pliers are cheap. I have never had a problem using them and it is much faster.
