That's why its hunting and not killing. Your already ahead of me, haven't even been out yet. I'm going tomorrow, cant wait. I remember a lot of days in the woods where I never saw a deer. Some are still incredible memories.

You sound like where I hunt. Everything is set up for 100-200 yard shots. You have to be real creative. I mainly hunt game trails during bow season, so I can get in the brush and have cover. Since South Texas doesn't have a lot of big trees, hiding a tripod stand in the bushes or a popup blind is our best bet. We use to have a couple ponds we could sit on, but the landowner pull those areas.

Looks like another zero today lol!! Oh well it's all good. As slow as it is I think instead of hunting this afternoon I'm just gonna shoot my bow and get ready to leave for Big Oak in the morning. Maybe my luck will change there!!

Man this sucks...I came home and start shooting my bow, and I am shooting horrible. I mean really, really horrible. And I have a trip tomorrow...at this point I've put it up. I'll take it with me, but the rest of the day is gonna be spent getting reaquainted with my PSE. I don't have time for a slump this weekend.

Slow in Elkhart/Slocum area. Seen the same 4 does every time I see deer and have been skunked the last 3 times I hunted. No signs of even the young bucks.

Take a deep breath buddy. No need to panic. You probably got some serious anxiety going on... nothing seen, got a big day at Bowhunting Disney World tomorrow and you got some nerves to calm down. If your first shot goes off, you are not in a good place to recover mentally and the wheels start coming off. Do what you gotta do, but I bet you get up there and you start flinging arrows at Buff's big ol 3D yard and you settle in, your shooting will be back to normal.

Do you shoot at the same target all the time? It really is in times like this that I just have to hit a reset button and shoot at something else. I have said it before, but shooting balloons on the ground gets me out of a mental funk pretty quick. That is why I mentioned the 3D setup at Buff's. Shooting there is kind of fun, and I find that I can relax and have a little fun... my shooting usually improves because my mind is relaxed.

I do. I wore out my old bag target and this Spyder Web target is all I've been shooting. I may try shooting at something else.

Also, I believe shooting at something different kinda forces your mind to focus on something new. Whereas with the old target, you are used to it and your mind lets you think about missing or other things and next thing you know, you are missing.

I do the same thing sometimes. I practice and practice and then I fall apart right before a hunt. Do like swamp rabbit says and shoot at something else. When I fall apart I grab a judo point and do some stump shooting. Takes my mind off of the target and groups and such and I focuse on the one shot I'm taking. Slow down and it'll all come together!

I always have a few days every so often when I'm off...and then when it all comes back together I shoot better than ever. This is just bad timing!! I did go out and shoot a little more, and quite a bit better. Still not what it should be. I'll shoot again this evening and see how it goes. Hopefully I can pull it together.

I'm 0-5 this year. Last year I think I was around 0-40 and it was last weekend at San Angelo SP before I connected on this one. Keep at it. Good thing is your always learning something on those sits that don't produce.
