I'm hitting myself in the face with the string on release. Doesn't happen all the time but almost every time I get a good shot it get hit. Starting to make me "gun shy". If I post a video of it would you folks mind taking a look at it and offering advice?

Two things cause me to do that.
1st and most common for me any way is I am looking at the target with my left eye.
This causes me to turn my head to bring the arrow in line and really splaps the snot out of me.
The other is plucking the string out to the right as I release causing to to jump back to the left to get back in line with the bow.

Open your stance. You are too perpendicular to the target and to get a good shot in you have to close the gap, bring the string closer to your face, or move your bow arm back. Next time you shoot, move your right foot (right handed shooter) 6 inches forward. See if that helps.
A video would be best though.
Good luck

If you are still using the tab, it may not even be the string hitting your face. it may be the tab because it is too big.
The only thing I see in the video is that you have a very static release. That is not necessarily bad, but it does mean that your back muscles are probably not engaged enough. For where you are at in your trad journey, it would be expected. As Alex stated above it would probably be good to open your stance just a bit. To do this move your left foot a 3-4" to the left.

Watched the video and besides noting the dead hand release... you have an intersting draw cycle. You start with the bow sideways and uncant it to vertical as you reach anchor. From a hunting perspective... you are moving alot. Like waving a flag during your draw. Good thing is you are drawing up instead of a really bad habit some people have where they sky draw. (Draw pointing way into the air and come down.) Its your style to choose, but might consider the cons with that much movement during your draw. (Also can't be good on your shoulder rotating like that with heavy weights.)

I've got several errands to run tomorrow but will be back at it in the afternoon. It's back to the basics for me at ranges less than 10yds. I AM going to do this and do it well.
