Ok so I have something weird going on with my ring finger. It doesn't hurt, it's not numb, can move it fine, but it tingles on the inside next to my pinky if I touch it or put pressure on it. I shoot split finger and it has to be something to do with the way I'm holding the string. Any thoughts?

Mine sometimes to do all of that, tingle, get sore, go numb. I have always just thought it was the price you pay, like a callus from hard work.
One thing I do when I know I am going to be shooting a lot, I wrap moleskin around the tips of my fingers for extra padding. I also shoot a tab that is thicker leather than most.

I just switched to a new glove too. It's thinner than my old one, but I like it because I can feel the string better and shoot better with it. I'm thinking the new glove may have something to do with it as well.

I had a pinched radial nerve at C6 on June 11th, and am just now getting back to being able to shoot my 50# stickbows. I still have numbness in my left thumb and my left wrist does not work right, but it is slowly getting better. When it first happened, it was scary as heck, and I was wondering if I was ever going to be able to shoot a hunting weight bow again!

I remember that thread...I'm hoping this isn't anything like that. I'm thinking I may take a few days off anyway just to be safe.

Im a noob recurver. I try to shoot 20-30 arrows a day...both hands on an ambidextrous bow. I am experimenting with anchors, split or 3under...etc. And noticed I have developed calluses on both of my ring fingers next to the pinky...similar to what you described. My only solution for you is to massage the affected area after a shooting session. I think you are literally constricting blood flow to that part of your finger. I shoot with
elk skin work gloves...because I like to hunt in gloves...theyre supple...slick and perform well when wet...yet again Im a noob.

Thanks for all the replies. I took a few days off, and it went away for the most part. I shot the last couple days, and took a little deeper hook making sure the string was in the crease of the first joint. Then I made a conscious effort to put more pressure on my middle finger and forefinger as I draw rather than the ring finger. No problems and didn't hurt my shooting any. I think the string was sitting where this callus is (obviously) and it was between the crease of the joint and the pad of my finger. Hopefully it's fixed. We'll see!!
