    look out Trads...

    I'm super excited!
A good friend of mine in Washing st has been promising me he was making me a long bow... after years of broken bows and dreams... a box arrived
I am a hotrod compound archer to say the least, but I've got a long bow itch I can't explain
my favorite of the bows he sent (3 in all) is a bamboo yew bybrid.
smooth and easy to handle this bow is super old school (no cut outs here)
i made a tab out of some leather I had and rigged up some bullets.
that first hunt can't get here fast enough!

Is that all the brace height or is the string too long? I have yet to shoot a longbow so I really do not know.

Selfbows usually have way lower brace heights than longbows or recurves.

Congrats on your bows. Do yourself a favor though, and skip the 25yd shots at critters. You are just setting yourself up for disappointment shooting critters that far out, especially right off the bat. Set up for closer, and make good shots!

                Good luck!

Agree 110% with Bisch on this one, after all one the biggest rushes about archery in general is the closeness with the critters! Oh, and also, practice! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Put the target in front of your truck. Walk back and shoot as far as you feel comfortable.
That right there would determine your hunting distance.

                      I'll never forget that one.

                      Beautiful bows, BTW.

Always wanted to try traditional, shoulders can't handle it,too much carpentry work as a career. So easy draw compound will have to do.

That drill will also teach you that you can actually let down a shot. The fact that you've reached full draw does not mean you have to shoot. If you don't like the look of the shot, let it down. Your truck will thank you.

                              Really nice looking bows.
