    its starting to get funny

As you all know this is my first year to hunt with my recurve. I have killed a buck and a doe and that is a really good year with a bow more less a recurve but good lord its getting funny. After i made all the bad shots and such you guys settled me down and I went out and took the doe so i thought all was behind me, well not true. Last friday I missed a doe at 9 yrds shooting right over her back and this evening at 12 yrds had 3 nice hogs and missed one again right over the back. I dont even cuss any more i just laff all the way to the truck. i have shot 9 times so far this year and got 2 to show for it...man what a yr!

Last year I shot at a spike, shot over. Next day he comes back, I shoot under.
He comes back 3rd day in a row and I dont shoot because he was cracking me up how he was acting.
Stretching his neck out trying to get corn, then walking thru real fast grabbing a couple of bites on the way by.

Glad you're gettin in the swing of things, its a lot of fun.

There isn't any doubt you know how to get close to game though. Your having a good year for your first at trad gear. I think you will come to a place where it will all come together and you will know the confidence that comes only from experience. The way your going that ought to be soon.

Its still early. After a while, it'll all just feel natural. Sounds like you're having a good first year to me.

Keep at it. Looks like you're going to have your tags filled before I even get a shot off. lol

No one said it was going to be easy. The difficulty is a big part of the draw for me. You are still having a good year. Just laugh at your misses and keep at em.

If I don't pick a small spot, I will shoot over every animal...luckily I am pretty good at picking a small spot.

Heck...I don't usually see 9 animals all year. You are having a "GREAT" season. Enjoy it.

PJ, It sounds like your attitude is much improved. Shooting live critters is way different than the foam ones. Keep practicing regularly and keep hunting. The more you do it the easier it gets to seal the deal. Don't think it will ever go away completely though. As I know from experience, you will still make a bonehead shot from time to time. I always say : A clean miss is always better than a bad hit"

                    See ya later,

                    Bisch
