    Single cutting edge?

I've seen a few broadheads with a single cutting edge. What is the purpose of that?

single bevel is supposed to have better penetration

As LC said but I think it also allows the head to spin should it encounter bone. Guess it is supposed to spin in the direction of the bevel - kind of makes sense. I will stick with my stingers though.

from what Ive read, when it hits bone, its supposed to torque therefore split it easier. I use grizzlys not because its single bevel, Im a fan of the 3 to 1 BH design.

Also, the single bevel is designed to naturally spin once entering the body cavity. Just be sure you have a left bevel for left helical feathers and right bevel for right helical feathers. Otherwise the spin of the arrow will constrict the broadhead's path once in the body.

I'll just stick with my Wensel Woodsman and Montec G5 broadheads.

So far I haven't had any penetration issues on whitetails with the Landsharks or the Woodsman's. I agree with loco cacahuate and Night Wing. I'll just keep using the same thing until I run into problems.

I've used them for a few years. They leave an impressive "L" shaped exit wound. Always had a short tracking job too. Another site has a series of articles by Ed Ashbey about single bevel heads. If your interested it is good information. Tradgang is the site.

not single edged, single bevel. it's just ground like a chisel instead of a knife.

i dont think it's an incredible breakthrough, can there really be that much difference in how 1/32 in. of steel is ground? not likely, if i can find or make some for cheap then i guess i'll test it.....

                    The whole story

I tried to attach a write up on single bevel broad heads, but it was too large. If you go to Alaskabowhunting.com's web site and click on broad heads and any specific head. They have a attachment that gives the full story on them. Long read and dry but interesting
