How much hand shock does the Hill have? I had an older "D" style and it jarred my pea brain every time I shot it.

All asl style bows have a thump but you can limit it with a low stretch string and arrows at least 10 gpp. A properly made Hill style can be a pleasure to shoot

If you are used to R/D longbows or recurves, I can almost assure you you will not like the "thump" of an ASL!!!
Nothing wrong with them. Different strokes for different folks!

If you shoot wood arrows it's virtually nonexistent to me but with carbons it's very noticeable.
