    Missed TWICE

I went to my lease this morning for a quick hunt. At 8:30 two does and two fawns came to feeder but no horns. They milled around eating for 20 minutes before leaving. At 9:00 Through the trees I saw a huge 8 pt headed for the feeder. He came in to about 16 yds turned broadside looked the other way and I took the shot. (2" above his back) He runs a few yards looks back toward the feeder and returns to the same spot. So I take the second shot, (2" over his back). He runs off a few yards stops and returns to 18 yds. Now I am laughing at myself for missing TWICE that even broadsided at 18 yds I can't shoot. After several minutes he walks calmly off. Oh well next time

Were you shooting a Foley bow? I hear they have unlimited cast. I think you have to hold really low cause they are some flat shooters.

I kinda understand what you went through, Ron. My first shot at a doe this year at about 10 yds was a clean miss over her back. She came right back in and the second try was a good one.

Better luck on the next hunt,

As a matter of fact I was shooting a Foley 3 pc. t/d longbow. Sometimes my internal sights are off. I thank GOD for the opritunity and next time I'll aim lower.

              Shoulda used a Black Widder.

(I've heard good things about your bows. Lynn (the) German in Abilene got one from you at Vanderpool a few years back that was a beaut!)

I've been out 3 times so far this season. Saw nary a thing.

Apparently, the buck wasn't too put out, so he'll probably be back.

I hear those Sarrels long bows can automagically correct for a miss like that.
