We got back Tuesday night from the worst hunt in history. It was a full moon, it rained, My truck broke down, One of my feeders was not working, I fell and broke my foot, we didnt get the ATV secured properly and it rolled into my pick-up trucks back glass and shattered it. I had a great shot opportunity on a small, young 4-point that i let walk and the mature doe I would have love to shoot busted me as we stared at each other at about 3-4 yards. I will try again over thanksgiving. Woody

It is funny how us hunters go through stuff like that, and turn around the next day and start drooling again while planning the next trip!

Dang Woody! That's a run of bad luck for sure. Sorry all that happened to you. Doesn't sound like your luck in hunting was all that bad though. Getting the first one down is the hardest one it seems. After that, they come a lot easier. I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!

Woody -- How bad did you break your foot? Are you going to have to wear a cast?

They x-rayed it again today and they think it is simply badly bruised. They gave me this large inflatable boot / brace looking thing to wear and i use crutches to take some weight off. This works pretty well and today i was able to put a little weight on the foot. I got really lucky and would hate to think of how a fracture would feel. This is no fun, but i will be ready for our January pig hunt. Woody

That is a good run of bad luck, for sure. I only thought I had a bad weekend. Glad you are doing better and sorry to here about your back glass. Keep at them, though. The moon and stars WILL line up for you.
