One thing for sure the Viper Trick went thru him like hot butter. I can't figure out why he didn't lay up close. He just trotted off like he didn't know what happened. The other 8 deer didn't even leave and they were all inside 20 yards. The recurve is a lot quieter than my compound. I feel sick that I couldn't find him tonight. I have a thing for big 6's which makes it even worse.

BTW, I backstrapped my first deer this year with a recurve and a buddy got her with his compound a couple weeks later. I know it is not the same, but hang in there.

I covered the entire property this morning in the daylight. Buck is not in there. He sure didn't act like a deer that was critically wounded. Best guess is I caught liver. I know it happens sometimes but it still sucks. Hopefully he will show back up in a couple days.
