well after waiting 2 hours to take up the search my son and I headed back out to where I last saw the deer cross the fence. We went(have permission) across and looked for almost an hour and found nothing. we went back to the fence and I took up another trail and followed it for about 45 minutes. I had just about give up when I looked down and there was about 5 drops of blood and then a big glob of blood. I went and got my son and called a buddy of mine with a dog. to make a long story short we searched for another hour with the dog and only went about 85 more yrds when we found where he apparently started to stumble. Dog got to acting really weird at a brush pile so we went there and found about 5 places where he had gotten up and laid back down just full of blood. I heard something and looked up and he was 15 yrds in front of us. He his my biggest buck ever with a bow and my first deer period with a recurve. total he went about 350 yrds. the shot was a little back but quartered forward. he is a 10 pt 15" wide. I cant post pics for some reason but would love to email them to a mod who can. thanks for all your guys support. PJ

After a rough start was a great finish. Congrats on your first trad deer. I know from experience that it was rough when you were thinking you might have lost him but kudos to you for sticking with it. There is no feeling as good as walking up to an animal you took with trad equipment.
Congrats again,
Bisch
