String length and arrows hitting right questions

I've got a Martin sabre and had limbs replaced due to one being twisted from factory. A brace less than 7" causes a red forearm so asked tech to increase it. He said 7.25" was the most we could do because the string was too twisted and I needed a shorter string. So question is how do I measure what I need? And how many strands should I get?

Next question, my arrows are hitting a good 12" left at 20yds. I put a sight on and the pins are outside the string a good 1/2" or more and needs to go more. From what I was told they should be close to inline with string. Is it just bad shooting form or tuning issue? Shooting 40lb 28" draw and uncut gt hunter 500 spine 32"?

That rest you have there, screw it out away from the riser. Looks to me like you have it screwed in too far to the right. With the string centered a nocked arrow should have its point about 1-2 point widths away from the string. If you have it too centershot it'll shoot right like that.

This, and throw an arrow on the string for that pic so we can see better how it's sitting on the rest as it relates to centershot. Also, what is YOUR draw length?

I beleive there are two approaches to your problem. Tune the arrow, or tune the bow (rest position.)

Is it shooting right or left? Title says right, but you posted 12" left.

You got a peep on that thing? How are you aligning your pins?

It's hitting left. No peep. I shoot my compound without peep granted it is easier to confirm anchor on it.
(I forgot to add that my draw length is 27.75)

Sounds like you arrows are stiff. You can try moving your rest in or adding weight up front.

I am by no means an expert on here, so take what I say with a grain.

The sight pins are really throwing me off because I can't tell if you are actually hitting left of center shot, or if you are just concerned that your pins are that far over. Back when I was shooting compound, my pins were that far over, but that was because I wasn't aligning my eye over center shot. It wasn't until I put my nose on the string that my eyes alinged over center shot more, and I had to pull my pins in. (The difference between string on side of nose, vs tip of nose made a 10" difference at 20 yards!!!)

I really thought 100gr on a 32" 500 spine as you listed would actually be pretty close and 12" Left seems like a lot. So, in my best guess, I really think you are shooting left because of you eye alignment and the fact that you think you are aligned over center shot, but you are not. Again, just my guess.

I personally, just found a good anchor that is comfortable and since my rest isn't adjustable, I just change the spine of my arrow so that it hits where I am looking. I know I don't look down center shot, because the string isn't in my direct line of view.

Nice observation Scott! I didn't play the sight into question but your observation sounds logical.

Swamp my anchor point is what was making for far left. I was pulling string to corner of mouth. I moved to tip of nose and poi is now closer to where it should be. I also pushed rest out another turn too and the arrow flight is better. I have a lot of tweaking to do though but at least now have a 8" grouping at 20yds to work with.
