wood arrows

made some wood arrows tonight with 145 grain and 125 grain points gonna shoot them and see how the group. they 29" cedar Hunter Arrows from 3 rivers. trying to mess with wood arrows again. hopefully they will fly real nice out of my 56" PSRV Black widow recurve 43@27" my draw length. Any suggestions from the wood arrow smith?

What spine did you get? how did they end up grouping?

Jon I got 45-50 with 125 and 145 points they seem to have a mix of good and bad grouping. Both points gonna shoot more this evening

Those should be pretty close. For a 43lb curve Id think at 29 inches a 50/55 with 125 up front would do you.

I have some you can borrow if you want to try them. Mine may only be 28.5" though so you may need to throw some 145s or 160s up front to weaken them a tad.

could also build your plate out a bit if they are a tad too weak.

Jon I'm gonna shoot them today. The proof is in how they preform not the numbers. The numbers give you a starting point.

Widows take a real stiff arrow. I shoot douglas fir shafts out if a 60 pound pma.

Hey BuckNuts you dont observe the arrows out of your bow? Cuz thats what your asking me to do, your asking me to take your word for it. My widow is like my fine woman and I know the shafts that can tickle her and make her hit with a thud!!
