Almost everyone I know, starts out by shooting over-spined arrows. Depending on how much to center-shot your shelf is cut, I would start with a full length 500 spine shaft, with 125 grain points. Like was said before, if your tips are built up, a fast-flight, or dyna-flight string, will also give you much better performance. Your draw length will also have an influence on your flight.

I use 5575s cut to 28.5" with 175grn tips to get perfect bareshaft flight out of my 55lb recurve.so keeping yours 2" longer with a similar weight would be good for yours. You gotta link up with an experienced shooter though to get an idea of what your doing when it comes to tuning. It could be a slight error in your release, the arrow, your anchor, so many things. And everyone's assessment is for a right hand shooter. Just in case your one of those backwards lefties

too stiff initial rec good you will need 240 or more up front. you can use gold tip weight adapters brass inserts or steel broadhead inserts all found 3 rivers and they can likely assist with customer service. you are way over spined for that set up everything else will straighten out when you start getting enough point weight and foc

Well Im even more confused now! Went to the bow shop this afternoon and they put it on the scale. I am drawing at 29" which at that draw is pulling 58lbs. So im not under but over 50! 400 shouldnt be too stiff at that weight should it? After putting it on the scale they wouldnt even sell me the 500 spined arrows. I tried heavier weights and it finally straightened out at 200 grain tips. I also increased my brace height by 1/4 inch, so they are flying good now, I guess I just dont understand the theory behind it though...
