    Tab or glove?

Is it a matter of personal preference or is there a reason to go with one over the other?

Personal preference. I prefer a glove.

I really tried to use a tab because everbody says it is a cleaner release. Tried several brands and several sizes but for whatever reason I could never get it to feel right. I shoot best with a DuraGlove so I am sticking with that.

I am doing better with the Neet glove that fits over the fingertips. The leather is stiffer, more like a tab.

Second question: With a glove do you split arrow with index and middle finger or do you place all three fingers below the nock like you would with a tab?

Whichever you prefer. I shoot split finger whether I'm using a glove or tab.

I have a duraglove I use split finger and carry as my back up a fred eichler split finger tab. I don't notice much difference, just prefer the glove. And I have to change my whole shooting technique to shoot 3 under as accurately.

You can shoot 3 under or split with a tab or a glove.

I shoot with a tab. In fact I use a tab that has the "split" in it, but still use it to shoot 3 under. (I still need to buy Rick Barbee 3 under tab.)

Not all tabs are 3-under. I shoot split fingered and shoot a tab. Tab or glove is personal preference, as is split finger or 3-under, as is the choice of how we do most anything in trad archery.

The key is to find something you can be comfortable with and repeat on every shot!

Isn't that the truth. In fact, it was harder to find a 3 under only tab than it was to find a split finger tab. I'd say there are more split finger tabs out there than 3 under.

I shoot three under with a tab Scott. Did you find a bow you are intrested in yet?
