Nothing new to report. I let a small 8 walk yesterday afternoon around 3. He might not be so lucky today...we will see. Only one little buck so far today...a little windy

I saw another little buck(most likely the same one I saw this morning). Horn chaser saw 3 doe all out of range and seven turkey. He would've killed a turkey but a doe was 45 yds out. There have been some really nice bucks killed but not as much deer activity as everyone was expecting with the colder weather. Got til noon tomorrow...

Well, me and hornchaser both struck out. Ended up seeing 3 bucks all small and let the one 8 point walk. He saw 3 doe out of range and we both saw 10 turkeys. I had some pigs come by this morning but they were in the brush behind me. There were several good bucks killed including a 170" last night. One of the guys hunting with us had a big one come in on him at 12 steps this morning but he forgot he still had his mittens on when he went to shoot and nocked his arrow off! It was really funny to hear him tell the story lol!!! It was cold, didn't see the amount of deer we were expecting to see but it was still fun. Maybe next year...

Had a great time myself even though it was slow where we were at but that's how it goes sometimes. I think the spot I was hunting would have been a great spot two weeks ago. On Friday the first day of the hunt I didn't see any deer but had 7 turkeys cruise past me within 7 yards 3 times as I was hunting from a natural ground blind I made. On Saturday I had the same same 7 turkeys plus 3 Toms. I had the biggest Tom at 8 yds when I looked to my right and saw a doe at 60 yds. I decided to see if the turkeys would work as decoys and she would come in with them but it didn't work out that way. A couple hours after that I had a group of 3 hunters come in on me with plans to hunt the greenfield I was on and weren't to happy to find me hunting where they were planning to move too. About 30 minutes after the other hunters moved back behind me somewhere I saw my last doe come out at 45 yards north of me and turned and walked North away from me. Today I moved over to another spot Dusty in my group thought would be a good spot to get away from the group that moved in on me yesterday, but didn't have any luck there either. All in all I had a great time on the trip, made some new friends with the two other guys in our group, and got to see several nice deer brought in to camp. Now if I can just get drawn in again next year!!

Horn Chaser, I didn't get a chance to come over to meet you. It seemed like this year time was short for everything there.
I had my chance but couldn't make it happen on a doe on Sat. There was 1 small buck killed in our group and 1 doe hit that we did not recover.
We saw several big boys cruising during mid day. And a lot of out of range deer every day. It was a great time.
The nights were cold and the drive home got interesting around OKC. Good luck to everyone for the rest of the season.
