    Silver Flames

This might be one for Buff to field.

OK, so I like the look of the German Kinetic Silver Flames.

The broadheads I use are tough - I have never bent or broke one.

The broadheads I use are sharp. They stay sharp, and aren't to hard to sharpen when need be.

The broadheads I used are easily tuned to fly great from my bows.
With that said, can someone give me justification for paying the kind of price they want for the Silver Flames.

I am not trying to stir anything up. Like I said, I like the look of them,

    but

what benefit will I get for my money, that the broadheads I currently use are not already providing?

I am answering this because I will buying some of these to shoot out of my new Bob Sarrels longbow. I don't think you can be given a justification for spending this kind of money when you can purchase something that will also get the job done, but for less money. Its a personal decision.

I have seen what Buff has posted.
I have read what others have said about their results.
I am willing to spend some coin to see if I too can get these results.

Best of luck in your decision...

      "High-grade knife steel 440B, sub-zero-quenched"

this right here says it is high quality. the subzero quench means they are cryogenically frozen with liquid nitrogen then retempered which gives it a MUCH more durable edge.

i cant find a price for them, how much do these run for?

Yea, I am thinking I may have to buy a 3 pack of the 150s and try them out.

        Haven't decided yet.

I really love the GK heads. My biggest thing is they stay sharp. It used to drive me nuts to spend a afternoon sharpening heads, mid week. Only to pull one out Saturday morning and find it would no longer shave hair. I tried Chap stick etc but Carbon just will not stay sharp here in East Texas but a couple of days. If money was a problem, I would find a buddy and split a package. I would carry 4 Zephyrs and 1 GK. My GK would be my first out every time.

I got an e-mail from Alaska Bow hunter Supply. They now carry GK heads if you looking for a place to buy some.

Zephyr is what I currently shoot, and what I have been shooting for many years now.

I never had a problem with them going dull on their own. The ones I have are stainless, so I have never had a problem with the micro decay of the edge.

They will however go dull if you drag them in and out of the quiver a lot, but I mean a lot.

Money isn't an issue, but I try to be a thrifty buyer.

Yea, I started out using the Sasquatches when Zephyr first came out, but they whistled, so I switched to the Siroccos, and have been very pleased with them.

I had switched from Zwicky Deltas to the Sasquatches, and I could see the difference in the reaction of the deer to the shots. It never cost me, but I just didn't like what I was seeing in their reaction to the shots.

Once I switched to the Siroccos the deer stopped reacting so much, and things were back to normal.

I just shot my first animal with a GK last month. As Buff says thay are SHARP. Whwn I first got them I practiced with one to make sure all was good with the flight. It was. I put them up and when I went hunting I could not tell which was the one I had practiced with. I probably shot a dozen practice shots with the head and it was still shaving sharp. They are very expensive but I am going to give them some more chances to put meat in my freezer.

Most expensive Broadhead on earth & Worth it

they are hand made and hand sharpened by a German Bowhunter buffered on a finishing wheel of elephant leather they will split his wifes Long blond hair length wise.

One PH in Namibia didn't know you had to resharpened them and shot 34 African animals with one head without resharpenng it.

Theyare made by hand by oen man one at a time. they are unbreakable and unles you loose it will last longer than you will.

They work great and penetrate like heck.

                      Tink

                      3 for $75 last time I checked.

If you cant afford them OK Just don't know the price OK?

Very good info Africanbowhunter. Much appreciated.

I don't understand why folks want to automatically assume you can't afford something when you ask questions before you buy.

                        Are they quiet ?

Buff - how do they compare to the Siroccos for quietness?

I went ahead and ordered 6 of the 150 grn. They are the same cutting diameter as my siroccos (1.25) so I figured I would give them a try.

                            Got them from:

                            GERMAN KINETICS USA
                            Vince Pierson
                            3159 Stevens Circle North
                            Erie, CO 80516
                            Phone 303-523-4508
                            vpier@ix.netcom.com

                            for $74.99 a 3 pack.

Mine are quite, I guess I use 5-1/2" feathers so I always have a hiss.

I don't think folks intended to say You couldn't afford them. It is just the price of the GK heads is always a big debate

Good luck with your new heads
