Making a bow, made a mistake, need advice

I cut my string grooves in the wrong direction on one side of the limbs. What is the best way to fix this?

dude....sorry to say this... if ya finished em up and they are fairly deep...only way i know is to cut em off just below the knocks and recut and refinish em...im asuming of course they are very close to the actual tips...in a sense your piking the bow...you may have to retiller slightly but i doubt that....it will raise the poundage of the bow...but not by a whole bunch...thats all i got someone else may have more or a better way...good luck!!!

Don't know what kind of bow your making but I miss cut one while making a r/d long bow. I cut both ends shorter and retillered. The weight did increase also.

And how deep and wide did you cut it? You can go up to a larger file or b*$tard rod if you caught yourself quickly enough and can match the other tip to it. They will be big but it is possible. Pictured would help determine. ..

Thanks guys I am gonna try to save them as I haven't cut them to deep. I'll make the tip beyond the string slightly smaller and clean up both sides to match.
Thanks for the advice I'll try it tp3

What kind of bow is it and do you have a pic? If you cut an inch off you'll should still be able to get to the weight you originally wanted

Maybe add horn or antler tip overlays??? Just a thought.

What 4 Dog said. You still have a bow there. When we have to shorten one like that most of our models pick up 5 to 7 lbs. Good luck. Don't give up on her.
