Trial and error here. Mark at KC'S helped me out with figuring out the basics.

For me it's all of the TBH tradies that post up great advice, information, and tips.

I have learned something from most of the guys I have hunted and shot with. Marty, Bisch, Chris Brown, Terry Dunn, just to name a couple.

I didn't spend a ton of time with him, but Keith Bass had a big impact on my attitude toward traditional.

I am a very long way from a master, but I do enjoy helping people get started.

              I haven't decided yet

When I joined the trad side, there was an outpouring of offers to help me get setup and to shoot. As my family and work schedule have permitted, I've been able to shoot and meet with a few guys on here. I'm just getting started and I know I have a long, fun journey ahead.

My advice, have an open mind and learn something from everybody you meet. I learned really quick that trad is way more diverse and personal that I could have imagined. There alot of ways to tinker and do things differently and still have fun. I can honestly say I have learned something already from just about everybody that has posted here and who I've met.

If there is any competition... I think it is around who is having the most fun.

The steepest part of the learning curve is figuring out what style or combination of styles fits you best. Watching Masters of the Barebow reconfirms to me that there is no "right way" to do it. The 6-7 archers in that series all shoot phenomenally well. However other than a few fundamentals like back using tension, no two do anything else alike. How they grip the bow, how they grip the string, anchor, release, aiming method, etc varies from archer to archer. You kind of have to try them all before settling in on what works for you. That can be frustrating but well worth it when it finally comes together.

You sure got a great coach! In fact I'm a little envious, ok, a lot! I had to learn by trial and error, and considering I started at about age 4, there's has been lots of error! Good luck!
