      The biggest one...

If they are all the same size, I would try for the dall.

        Ok here we go...

It all started around 4 pm when we where driving around the ranch in a Ranger and spotted a group of Rams that where napping under a couple of mesquite trees. We drove maybe 60 yards away and only woke one up. Another was already awake and 2 or 3 more where still asleep.
I told my brother to drive slowly and jumped out of the moving Ranger into a small bush. My brother and my little boy drove to about 100 yards and stopped to see the action. One of the rams never took his eyes off me, but couldn't make what I was. The rest went back to sleep. To make this short, I crawled about 30 yards in maybe 20-25 minutes. I didn't want to take a 30 yard shot, if I could get closer but then I broke a branch with my knee and before I looked back up, the Rams where already easing into the brush.
I knew that was my chance and I signaled my brother to come get me.
He picked me up and as we drove around we spotted the same group of rams in an open area maybe 200 yards from where I tried to stalk them.
I got off the ranger and just went straight to the the rams. My only cover was the fence, wide open area. I picked up the pace and before I knew it I was at shooting distance. Once again they started moving, but one of them fell behind, the broken one. i knew it was not going to be as simple as I thought so I just let an arrow fly at a little over 20 yards. For a moment I thought I had missed, my arrow had dropped considerably. Then I saw the blood coming out of the heart area. I then knew he was done. At least that's what I thought.
I saw him go for another 50 yards before he lay down. Again I signaled my brother to come get me and we high fived and everything. My son kept on asking why I had not let him shoot as we saw the ram with my binoculars. We waited maybe 20 minutes and the ram wouldn't go down. I decided I didn't want to make him suffer anymore and put another arrow in it. Boy, was I wrong. He got up and ran away as if nothing had happened. I was confused at the time but had to finish the job.
I followed him a little ways in the brush and let another arrow fly. If you would ask me, what the perfect shot would be, that's it right there. It went right behind the shoulder and out the front side of the opposite shoulder. This time he just walked 3 steps and stopped again. I knew he was done.
I went back to the ranger and told my brother I had made a great shot this time and to drive around looking for more and let this one expire.
We drove around for maybe 40 minutes, picked up my father that was at the house and came back. To my surprise, he was still standing. I came back to get my bow and my son was crying wanting to go with me. I told him it was dangerous and he had to go behind me. So we got to about 15 yards and I let another arrow go. This time it went in maybe 4-5 inches behind my first shot but got stuck in the opposite shoulder blade. The ram then fell, of course, to the side my arrows where sticking out and broke both of them.
After I shot I told my son that the ram had lay down and he had to shoot it before it got back up. We got closer and he was able to empty his quiver at it. The little arrows that hit it, bounced straight back.
But to see his face, thinking he had shot it, was just priceless.
You couldn't wipe the smile off his face with anything.
He was proud as we went back to the ranger and he told his uncle and grandpa he had shot a ram.
