    Surprised

I was suprised to see that KCs is closing. They seemed to have a nice shop and were very nice folks. Hate to see a shop that caters to trad folks close down.

IIf you are talking about KC;s Outdoors in Spicewood, it has been for sale for a long time. Did they finally sell it?

I heard today the the building was sold!

I hate to see any archery shop close, but wish Mark & Bobbi the best of luck!

I was there today and yes, it has sold and Bobbi and Mark are finally retiring. The are liquidating everything via a retirement sale. They most likely will be out by the end of the month. Their exact words were "someone wanted the building and the property more than us!" I'm very happy for them. I've gotten to know them well over the years and they are the reason my 2 boys started shooting traditional bows and 3D. Mark has done so much for this sport over the years, it's now time for some R&R.

I'm very sad because they were one of the only trad shops around and they are 9 minutes from my house.

They have been in business for 28 years, have taken only 3 real vacations in that time and they never left the state! They want to relax and do some real traveling. I hope they have a great retirement!

Now where are we going to shoot in AC when it is 105 degrees outside?

Fans, extension cords and flying turkeys don't sound bad to me.

Good luck to Mark and Bobbi.

You could shoot off the balcony, have Arvin fetch your arrows, and send them back up to you in the dumbwaiter!

Wow! I had no idea. I'm happy for them though. They are both very dear people and deserve their retirement; they've certainly worked toward it long enough. Mark found my son and I a couple used recurve bows when we were first wanted to go trad. I also bought my first new recurve from him after that. I used to go in the shop quite often when it was in Oak Hill, not so much since they moved to Spicewood.

Yep, I have known Bobbi and Mark for a long time. I am happy for them. I know they will enjoy retirement. Bobbi went to bat for me with Bear Archery to get my Bear Takedown delivered before they close the doors. I wouldn't want to be on her bad side!
