Need to buy my first Tab

Okay, so I'm a bit bummed. Was going to order my first finger tab and Rick's Webpage says he is not taking any new orders for a while. I can appreciate that but I was pretty set on getting a 3 under death adder. I got to see one in person and was very impressed with craftsmanship, etc.

So, since I want to do some shooting and my homemade tab for kids bows isn't going to cut it for my 40lb bow, I need something that is as similar as possible to the adder tab.

    Please, throw me some recommendations

I like the Saunders Pak-Tab and even though it is a split finger tab I use it for 3-under. The black widow 3-under tab is another good one. These are the two I have done best with.

I'm another vote for the Saunders Pak-Tab. They now make a 3 under version, but I have heard that it only comes in large, so there is a good chance you would have to trim it a bit. It is not like Rick's tab but it is slick as owl s***, requires no breaking in, is impervious to water, and is made out of rubber/plastic so it does not hold odor like a leather tab can.

If you want one like Rick's, then there is Bateman and several others in that same style. They will mostly be leather and not the nylon webbing stuff that Rick uses though.

I'm sorry about that SR, but I have got to try to work myself into some breathing room, and the only way I can see to do that is to stop taking orders for a while.

Hopefully it won't be to long, and I'll be back taking orders again.
In the mean time these fellas have made some real good recommendations for you.
If I were in the market for a tab other than one of mine it would be the saunders.

No problem Rick. I am disapointed, but not upset by any means. I fully appreciate the situation you must be in and you are doing the right thing in my book. I hope you can enjoy your rest.

(I did have to mention the reason I wasn't ordering YOUR tab, because I didn't want a bunch of recommendations for a tab I knew I wouldn't be able to get my hands on.)

Once you get into trad a bit, you will quickly realize that nobody "locally" carries much of anything trad related! That is unless you live in the same city as 3-Rivers Archery or Lancaster Archery!

So here is the deal, I can order a Saunder Pak Tab very easily (Amazon) or get the 3 under version that doesn't have all the layers (direct from Saunders)

Is it a big deal to shoot the split version 3 under?

Personally i thinl its all preference. I shot an eichler split tab three under before switching to rod jenkins three under tab. The benefit is being able to switch between the shooting styles if you can without throwing yourself off. I can't so i just stay three under

Well this is no fun... no sizing charts like Rick's website. So now I have no clue if I'd get a Medium or Large.

Hard to say. My hands are about average, maybe a touch on the small side as far as finger width and a medium works fine. If you're near average size I'd probably go with medium.
