What caused them to sink in the slip ?

Why do you need to store it in the water? Not sure which lake you are talking about, but Conroe has inclosed storage lots where they launch the boat for you- you still don't have to drag the boat back and forth. Personally, I wouldn't let mine sit in the water for months at a time.

The main lake near my area is Lake Sam Rayburn and in our area there aren't valet services like on Lake Conroe..... I wished there were as I would use those services.
The only marina isn't customer or price friendly at all. $5k to put in a hydrohoist and then rent the slip for $200+ per month.

My father in law put his boat at Rayburn marina for about 6 months, when we pulled it out to attempt to clean all of the scum off it had blisters in the fiberglass. This was a brand new boat also, it went straight from the dealership to the boat slip.

I live on a lake, and have a 18.5 foot Stratos fiberglass bass boat.

It is in the water all year long, right behind my house. I pull it out if I go to another lake, but it generally stays sitting in the water.

I pressure wash and wax it every year when I pull it out for the winter, and give it a good spray every time I've got it up on the trailer. Algae and scum will build up after sitting all year, but I've never had an issue with it clogging the intake jets, etc., as long as I use it at least occasionally. We do have the zebra mussels, but you've really gotta neglect your boat before they do any damage. My biggest concern with them is spreading them to other lakes.

Leave your boat in the water, and clean it really well at least once a year. You'll be fine.

I would not unless you are using it a few times a month.

Get it out of the water. It will only cost you money in the long run.

My plan was to put it in the water in a slip during the boating season and the boat would be sitting in the water in the slip. We would use it 4-10 times a month during boating season. Then take the boat out of the slip and put it in dry storage during the off season. I'm trying to reduce my "hassle factor" when the family is wanting to go enjoy the boat.
