    Cheap Takedown Recurve/longbow

    Hi guys,

What would you guys recommend along the lines of a cheap Takedown
Recurve or Longbow, $250 (R2000.00) or less?

I already have a Ragim Impala Std 50# ( I almost favor the idea of a
    T/D long bow).

    Kind Regards,

I'd start looking on some of the classifieds for a good used bow. One can usually find one well within that price range.

EBAY has tons of them. The only problem is its really hard to tell what your getting by viewing pictures. I have seen bows go for well under a $100.00 on the site.

A buddy of mine just bought a used checkmate, He loves it but he gave almost 300.00, check with your local archery shop first, then branch out

Who knows...He may not be asking for himself, but for someone here.
If not, anything can be shipped just about anywhere.

                      Hi Guys,

Thanks or the info. I am actually asking for myself, but it doesn't matter. I had
a look at Quinn bows a while ago, but they seem to be out of my price range
                      $450 plus.

The additional problem is bringing it into South Africa I am going to pay quite
high import tax, and the South African Rand is not that strong at the moment.

As for the local archery shop, there is none that sell takedown - that I know of-
with in approx 300km. We Have a local bowyer who makes great bows, Johnny
Snyman he makes a very beautiful Scythian bow but he is not making takedowns
yet, but am working on it I got my Ragim through mail order 1300km away I
guess I will have to do the same for my next bow, either that or I have to make
                      my own??

I will keep a look out for a Quinn bow on our local market.

                      Thanks Again,

                      Regards
