I finally gave this a try and it works just as advertised – you can move the nock up and down just like a nut on a bolt. I made one change in the method. Instead of a pencil I used a piece of a soda straw (actually one of those straw-like coffee stirrers) After you’ve done your wraps you just go back through the straw. Thanks Rick!

I actually don't use the pencil, straw, or anything else. I just coil it up, push the end back through the coils, and pull it tight.

I used the pencil in the demo to make sure folks could clearly see what I was doing.

i like this better than how i've been doing it. i need to adjust mine slightly, so i plan to do it this way now.
