    Bob Lee Archery

    LostHawg

Thanks for suggesting that I should call Bob Lee Archery. I did and was fortunate enough to speak directly with Rob Lee. He took time and answered all of my questions and offered some good advice for a novice shooter. Turns out that I was measuring the brace height incorrectly and my arrows, as I thought, are spined wrong. I will be getting new arrows tomorrow but my bow is shooting much better now just by using the correct brace height. I will not forget the great customer service I recieved today with regard to a 35 year old bow. THANKS!!!!

Another RWH lives!!!! Way to go.

Brace height should be 8.25" measured from the string to the 'deepest' part of the riser where your hand holds the bow.

Carbonvapor 3000 carbons shot beautifully out of that bow. I shoot them, everybody at my club who's tried mine bought some, and I "even" sent one of mine to Bowvista to try on his RWH, and if you look at his thread here, it shot perfectly. 410 grains with a 100 grain point, for hunting I had pass-throughs on 3 hogs and a deer last year from my 54# RWH.

I suggested that instead of shipping it back to me in Kali, he 'pass it forward' to another TBHr to try. Get in touch with him, tell him 'Bill sent me'.

For tuning, download the Easton Archery tuning guide on their web site, and follow it for recurves.

For form and lessons, find somebody who has completed the NAA instructor course and have them give you a couple or 3 lessons, pay 'em or buy a case of beer to say thanks.

Whenever possible, always go to the originator. Then talking directly to Bob's son; good stuff right there.

I got my daughter a Red Wing 25#er. Her first "real" bow. She loves it. I've just got to get her a new glove now. The girls growing like kudzu!
