The reason i pose this question is I was shooting a Browning Spartan that I got from my uncle a while back wood and glass wonderful bow, but it developed a crack it the upper limb and is not shootable any more. Now i am shooting my PSE kingfisher striped down to nothing off of the shelf that i have covered in leather. Is this still considered Traditional or is it a wood and glass bow game?

No wheels is traditional. I have all machined , state of the art risers with carbon and foam cored limbs. Trad archery is always evolving. From sticks and guts to what we have today. They will evolve even more with advancement in materials and workmanship.
Some will say traditional evolved all the way up to the day before Fred Bear used a stick on rest. Wood is trad and metal is Olympic.Last edited by huntinpool; 03-31-2013, 08:30 PM.

LOL the age old question.
I love these topics. 8^)
If a bow has no wheels, no gears or mechanisms to aid in drawing it, only one string, and the archer is drawing with his/her fingers while holding & shooting it at it's full draw weight then it is traditional.
I don't care whatever else gets attached to it, it's still traditional, and the only separations that apply are in classifications of style of shooting for competition purposes.

This comes up from time to time. There is no official definition as far as I know. If you go to certain tournments they have restrictions for shooting in the traditional classes. I like what the guys above said.
Make yourself happy and don't worry about what others might label you.
If you come to one of Buff's trad weekends and you don't have wheels or cams, you will fit in fine.
