    decision time

    what do yall think would look best?

    i have a hickory stave backed with bamboo and today in the mail i got two riser blanks from dan toelke one is brandillo and the other is pav ferro with a maple overlay

    i need to choose from one of the risers any opinions?

          You have to go with the Pau Ferro and Maple. That'l make a pretty combo with the boo backing.

                    the one on the left is a really good lookin deep red wood with straight grains

                    as you can see on the right though the wood is really marbly and since my stave has some swirls near the tips i think it would look really good with the combo

                    of course if somebody was to send me some zircote that would look even better

                    the bow is going to have the basic dimensions of a toelke bullwhip, so anyone that has one could you do me a huge favor and tell me how deep the tips are?

                    not wide but deep, thats the only part im not sure of

                      I have some Oryx Gemsbok horn I can send ya. Pitch black when done.. Makes gorgeous tip overlays. My tips on my Whip are 3/8" / 7/16" deep... Front to back side of limb.

                        if you dont mind i will take you up on that oryx horn offer, i love tip overlays and dont have another knife to use the handles from lol

                          Bottom limb is 1/2" - sorry not much difference. Send me a PM and I will cut you a piece off and mail it out. Top limb goes from 3/8 to 7/16 tapering out toward the riser.
