Since I shoot 3d as practice for hunting, I use the same arrows. If all I did was shoot 3d I'd build considerably lighter arrows with less FOC.

I plan on shooting 3-D and indoor tournaments before I begin hunting with it.

GoldTip 55/75 with 100gr brass insert and 150gr point/broadhead. What we use will, in no way, help you determine what you should use. Your bow, your form, and some tuning will determine what you need. I would advise for you to find an experienced trad guy in your area to help you out. I will greatly lessen the learning curve.

Jeffro nailed it. Same as for hunting is the way to go. For me, it's 74# cedars. Frank

I like to have a somewhat lighter arrow for 3D, now when I say light I'm still talking 10 GPP. My hunting arrows are a hair over 14gpp and they hit hard at 15 yards but they start wanting to find some dirt past twenty. My 3D league has a max distance of 30 yards for the trad class and around 60% of the shots on a twenty target course are past twenty yards.

The 440 grn arrow at 177 fps has a much flatter trajectory than the 610 grn arrow at 150 fps, and it gives me a more consistent sight picture across the range of distances I shoot during a round. I'll take flatter and more forgiving (of range estimation) any day of the week when it comes to 3D, but I do switch over to the heavier shafts a month or so before the season opener to re-cage my brain.
