    Longbow ?

How long can you leave the bow strung and does hurt the bow?

    #2
You can leave a laminated bow strung up for as long as you want. Just don't leave it in a hot environment (car, etc.) and do not store it standing on end.

For selfbows or all wood composite bows, you should only string them up when you shoot them.

I have a Tomahawk that's been strung for 3 years. Shoots fine and the limbs are as straight as the day it came in the mail. But it is stored in the house, hanging on a rack. I wouldnt leave a bow strung, propped up in the corner, or where theres extreme temperature changes.

Why not leave them on end? I unstring my bow and leave it standing in the corner, should I put it on a rack?

Storing a bow standing up leaves the door wide open for the bottom limb to twist on you. If you don't want to make a rack just store it shelf side down under your bed (or somewhere else out of the way) and you'll be good to go!
