Bob Sarrels does make a really nice takedown longbow!

No! Limb tips can be made with wood, phenolic, or a variety of antler/horn materials.

Thanks; as you know I have asked Bob and Zachery to build me a Blueridge S/R. I talked to Bob the other day and asked him to wait on the start of my bow until we could visit more.

The reason for this is that even with all the progress in the materials that Bob, Zack and I have put together. I am finding more and more that there are things to consider such as the horn that we were referring to etc..

I guess I know that I can't afford to have one of these built everyday and I hope to build a bow that I can both admire for it beauty and enjoy for its function.

With this considered, I'd say that having a good idea of what all is out there would better my chances of choosing the right materials for the build whether cosmetic or in function.

I would say if there is any thing, horn, antler, bone, wood, ivory, etc.you want. It can be used in the build of a bow. Just depends what you want to spend.
