    Tab Tip (For 3 Under)

I've been asked quite a number of times about how I can get my bows so quiet, and also how I can shoot a lower, or closer to a normal split finger nocking point when shooting 3 under.

    Here's why.

This actually came about while trying to figure out how to relieve my chronic 3rd finger pressure, and the other benefits were just icing on the cake.

This will also work for split finger. The only difference is, you make the thickest part of the tab at the middle finger, and tapper it off thinner from there to the two outer fingers.

Just a little tip. Hope it helps some of you.

That's a great idea Rick, may have to give it a try! Are you making your own tabs or cutting up someone else's to get to the final product?

          Thanks guys.

No, I don't make my own. I use the old tried & true saunders pack tabs, and modify them to fit & work the way I want them to.

As far as the layering goes, it don't take anything fancy to get it done. I just stick a piece of velcro or double side tape between the stock tab layers where I want it to be thicker.

Hm so this brings up an interesting piece of information. By reading your quip about the tab, it appears the pointer finger carries most of the load. Is this a correct assumption? I have thought that the middle finger carries most of the load.

I am now confused. Can you clarify this for me?!? Thanks

For shooting 3 Under, the modification shown in this picture forced the pointer finger to carry a higher percentage of the load, which gets the center of pressure on the string closer to the bottom of the arrow.

For shooting split finger the tab modification changes where it is thickest at the middle finger, and thins out to the outer two fingers. This modification places a higher percentage of the load on the middle finger, yet once again gets the center of pressure on the string closer to the bottom of the arrow.
