Well after only getting to hunt a few times this season due to work I was wondering if I would even use one tag. I finally got an opportunity to go to the lease on new years day for a hunt, it was great to get in the woods it felt like I had not hunted in 3 years and it was opening day. After talking with several guys on the lease the deer had not been hitting the corn so I went totally old school and hunted on the ground around some trails and rubs. It was a blast, had some close encounters with some deer and one nice 10 pnt. (130 ish ) at 20 - 25 yards twice but with him being on full alert I had to pass. Had a blast, the last morning hunt this big hen came by and I let her have it. The crazy part is she took off running with my arrow so I dropped my bow and took off after her. Well after the 100 yard dash in coveralls and boots I got her Yee Haw I got to use a Tag.
