      I used to do it a lot and have killed a couple dozen deer while still hunting. I would find a good route just inside good cover that would be a couple hundred yards and would be right for the wind. Then I would walk it and prune it to allow me to walk it with out bending over or catching my bow. 200 yds. is about all I could make in an evenng and move as slow and as quiet as it takes. It's important not to have to bend or twist while still hunting. Those are the movements that will give you away. Stay straight up and down, move a little bit and glass ahead. Repeat that for the whole path you've cleared.
