new to trad hunting need advice!

I just started to shoot my dad's recurve recently and needed a little advice. The bow is a 60'' Martin Dream catcher with a 50# draw. The only problem is he has left it strung up for the past 15 years, but it was stored in A/C. The string looks like it needs to be replaced, but i don't know where to go to get the right string. So i came to the green screen for some advice on a new string.

Recurve string 4" shorter than AMO listed length
Longbow 3" shorter.
That is the rule of thumb. I find that my strings end up a little less than the standard on my bows

I second the vote for Rick. He has forgotten more than I will ever know about strings.
