I've been invited to hunt this season on a property that belongs to two friends of mine. I went out this weekend to fill feeders, set cameras, etc. I decided to do some "real world" practice because I'm still getting used to handling a 60" longbow in a blind vs. a short compound. I've got two ground blinds to hunt from and a ladder stand. I took a bag target and placed it at various distances - behind the feeder, in front of the feeder where I will hand corn, and in each shooting lane. I then got in the blind and and took a bunch of shots. I shot quite a bit from the ladder stand because I have not practiced with the longbow from elevation. Maybe it was just one of those days when I was "in the groove" or maybe I was just more focused than I am in my backyard, but I came away feeling confident I can score when the time comes. I know it will be different when its "show time" but I did not want my first ever shots from the blinds to be at animals.
