    Need some help!

I started bow hunting in 2005, and have all but forgotten about rifle hunting. Anywho i would like to get into shooting trad. Im a lefty And am lookin for a good starter setup. Any advice regarding bows i should look into and/or stay away from would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a DAS Daala that I really like to shoot. ILF limbs so I can change out for different shooting situations. I use this one as my primary hunting bow.
For indoor shooting, I have a Hoyt Excel. Low poundage and super fun to shoot.
My wooden recurve is a Horne Mountain bow backed with diamondback skins. Had this one made for me by Mark Horne. Super nice recurve.

Best advice I can give you is to not over bow yourself.
Start off with a low poundage bow 40# is plenty this will allow you to learn good form and shot sequence. Longer bows tend to be more forgiving. ask lots of questions and go to 3D shoots. Many folks will be happy to help you.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money getting started look at the Samick Sage. You can get one from 3Rivers for $140 + Shipping. You can get a low poundage bow to start with so you can work on your form and technique, then order new limbs for it for only $73 + shipping when your ready to step up in weight. A lot of folks here have started with a Sage, and you really can't beat them. They are really a very nice bow for not a lot of money and that goes along ways these days.

Get a good quality ILF rig. The benefits of ILF for a new shooter are just too numerous to post here.

This will be my third hunting season with a bow. I shoot a Titan with two sets of limbs, 30# and 40#. If I ever need a heavier set of limbs, they are $129.

^^^ this but i would definitely start with 40# or less. Especially if you have longer than a 28 inch draw. The higher poundage ones have a lot of stack past 28

I have a forty pounder I built to train to shoot left handed. That did not work out so well cause I am so right handed. Solved the dominant eye issue with contacts. It is a Superstition longbow. 62" long and 40 lbs. All bamboo limbs. I could probably make you a pretty good deal on it. It has no more than 50 arrows thru it.

X3 on seeing if Bob can fix you up with that Superstition!

And re-read what Swamp Ghost wrote a couple times because it is very true.
