    Twisted Limbs

My father and I have been in archery for over 30 yrs. Last week I asked him to bring our old recurves to me when he came to town. After inspecting them, all of them need to be re-worked. Most of the finishes have browned up and is flaking off.

The first bow is a Kodiak Magnum. It has a slight limb twist. When I sit it on a table on the back of the limbs, it will rock back and forth. Is there a way to fix this? The second bow is Ben Pearson Predator. It has the same problem. I would like to get these bows restored as new as possible. I grew up shooting these bows and would like to pass them down to my 12 yr old son.

Any help will be very appreciated.

A slightly twisted limb can be easily fixed. All you need is a way to clamp the bow to a flat surface and a blow dryer and a little bit of time.

I've never fixed a twisted limb before, but I've seen work that Ron has done on an old Bear bow and whatever he's doing works.

Not saying that Bisch's idea doesn't work, might even be how Ron does it. ???
