    Nock and arrow questions

I recently ordered a new string for my sage from three rivers and when I installed it I noticed the Nocks on my gold tips are real loose on the string. Do they sell smaller nocks? Or get a bowshop to put another layer of serving on?.... Now the arrow question, while I had Sacagawea I shot Easton arrows I believe BC that's what she came with. I'm unfamiliar with these arrows and I wanted to order some for my sage which ones should I look at regarding spine I am unsure....they're not marked like my gold tips.... my sage is forty pounds and I pull to about 29 so right now I'm using 3555s thanks

You can wrap some dental floss on your serving. You can also use dental floss for your nocks (I like a little bigger string for nocks) but you can put two string nocks and it will help your arrow stay on better... I would think that the 500 spine would work fine on your setup with enough weight up front.

You probably don't want to put another layer of serving on. You can remove the serving you have and put on thicker serving...it comes in a variety of different thicknesses. But you may be able to squeeze the ears on your nocks together to get them to stay on your existing serving. You might try putting the nocks in hot water for a bit and then squeeze the ears to get them as tight as you would need.

You say their loose like fall off the string loose? If not then there fine. Knock should fit on the string so when hanging then thump the string fall off. Always have to sand or file between to free them up from being to tight. As stated above will work as well!

They're loose enough where they fall off

Dental floss or a strand out of your bow string. It only takes a couple of wraps to make a big difference. A .500 spined arrow with heavier points(145-200) or a .600 with lighter points( 100-145) at full length (30") should work for you.

Thanks Todd and when you say a strand out of my string are you talking about extra peice or cutting into my string?

I'm pretty sure he's talking about bow string material, it's very thin like the dental floss. Just try tying the floss or string at you nock and follow the serving down, then check your nock. Once you have the serving built up you can simply tie it in.

I'd just reserve the string to fit the nocks. Time was pretty much everyone who shot a bow knew how to build a string or center serve to fit a nock.

Reserving is the best solution. If it's close, I just use the my teeth to pinch the nock ears together a bit. Doesn't take much. Of course, this only works for me.....your nocks could be completely different.

I meant your old string, depending how loose a fit you got. Bow string is a little bigger than floss.
Although the best solution is to re-serve to correct size.

Ronnie, I believe the arrows I sent along with the pass around bow were traditional only 600. Not sure what nocks they use. Try squeezing your nock together a bit before reserving. Wont take much.

buy a serving tool and the correct size serving really very easy to use and a life saver when you need to fix a broken or worn serving in the feild or that once in a life time hunt
