    Two piece longbow

Well its not finished yet. The hardest part was cutting a perfectly good longbow in half. I will use carbon and glass to make a connection sleeve for the tenon to slide into. Then reshape the grip and cover with a hide of some sort.

The riser is an offset I-beam so that you can't see the phenolic once the window and shelf are cut.

    Thanks for looking

Bob have you done em like this before or just the bow bolt? It's pretty slick so far.

WOW..I can just imagine how hard it was to make that cut.

I bet you measured twice beforehand.

Nah no measuring. I was debating on building a jig but finally just walked over to the band saw and was done in about 2 sec.

The tenon has to go from larger to smaller towards the top of the bow. If not the sleeve won't be tight. I did mine @ .850 on the bottom of the tenon and the top of the tenon is .842. I will round over the edges and make it more oval before I glass it back together.

That's really cool. I know I wouldn't have the nerve to cut it. Great job .

I really like this idea. Can not wait to see the finished bow.
