Got Bit By The New String Bug

New string for my 65# MOAC Mediums on 21" JCO Riser.

I needed a spare, and that's what the old string will serve as.

    21 strand Bloodline Brave 99 / Loops padded to 30 / Main body diameter 0.0703125" or 9/128".

    Target Length - 65.5".

Jig Setting - 63.8", then stretched string for 1 hour under 400# to 1/4" past target length.

    Loop size - Both top & bottom - 9.5" burn / 11 twist - 1.75".

    Serving - Started 4" below center / Ended at 2.5" above center for 6.5" / 5 wraps teflon tape / 0.026 Crown / 0.104 Diameter or 13/25".

    Silencers - 32 strands acrylic yarn / 2" diameter / 12 grains each / placed 10" from contact points.

I marked the brace height with the old string, and built the new to hit that same mark. Almost dead on after stretching & conditioning, and still there after about 50 shots.

I'll see where it is at in the morning, but doubt it will have moved much (if any) by then.

I could have cleaned the splices up a little bit better, but dot dot dot. It don't matter. :-)

    Rick

I just noticed that when I installed the silencers it caused a little cabling right near them both.
No biggie. I can unstring the bow, and fix that easily.

What kind of nock fits that rope?

None of them until I build up the serving with the teflon tape.

I'm currently using McKinney pin nocks (large bore), and they fit just a tad loose in the valley.

          I redid my silencers.

Do y'all remember those little foam stars I was trying to use for silencers?

They silenced real good, but the string kept cutting them in half after a while.

I put them in the middle of 24 strands of the acrylic yarn.
I think the yarn will keep them from tearing apart, and they only weigh 16 grains each.

You wanna talk about quiet shot. Man O Man. :-)
