    My new Hog light

I just finished making it. It's one that I use to make many years ago to screw into the stabalizer hole of a compound bow. I just modified it a bit for my longbow. Still need to attach the switch, but it's only 6" long, light weight, and not too bright.

Hey Matt, I like that! How did you fix up the bolt to mount it to the bow?

I just bent a long limb bolt I had to the right angle. It goes thru my end cap and is locked in place with a nut. Removed the original limb bolt from the bow(unstrung), screw on the light and used a another nut to lock it down. I'm not sure how close that angle will be from bow to bow, but I'm betting that it will be close enough on all my Blue Ridge bows. It balances real well with my quiver on.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure how the commercially made lights are put together, but if the bolt can be removed and replaced with a longer one it can easily be bent to the right angle.

Not at all. It doesn't weigh much. I've always thought it was a little top heavy with my quiver attached, but this light balances it out nice. I would assume the newer commercial ones are even lighter than mine. Question is, can you replace the bolt??? Here's a closer picture for you Bisch.

Looks good, however, (there is always a but, lol) I would add another nut to the bow side to help lock the original in place. Vibration is a killer, and may cause the nut to back off some. Another nut on there will work as a lock nut. Just a thought.

If you use a regular nut I think your right. I used a shouldered lock nut so it wouldn't come loose. I've shot it a few dozen times today and so far it hasn't. Fingers crossed it don't.
