    Ground Hunters

I tend to hunt a lot of public land, mostly from a saddle with a recurve. In the last couple years, however, I have found myself in places where saddles aren't the best option.

What are the go-to chairs for the ground hunters that won't make my a** go numb after an hour or two that are easy to carry on a pack? I will be hunting the matador this year and only a small fraction of the place will be saddle-worthy.

Let me know what yall use!

ID:	26889453 I don't know if they still make these but it's one of the best packable seats out there and is surprisingly comfortable. I taped the chains up so they don't make noise in my pack.

I carry a 5 gallon seat type plastic bucket with cushioned rotating top . You can carry a square foam pad to hang from your belt if you want more cushion. Carry your knife, flashlight and other stuff inside the bucket.
Don’t forget to bring your 4X4 for the sand.

It's at least 30 years old. I've mainly used it for rattling.

This Waldrop pacseat looks pretty nice. There are a few reviews on youtube. Here is Robert Carter's take. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaU8wxkJzf8

They are proud of that thing for $225.00! But ill admit it does look pretty sweet.

If you use a lock on and sticks, they can be used as a ground seat as well. My mobile setup for the last few years has been an XOP vanish evo and hawk helium (have used both the fullsize and 20" sticks). You just use a stick to prop the stand open, or you can strap the stand to a tree at ground height, and suddenly you're hunting.

That's a slick idea there. Thanks for that, Trumpkin.

Yep. Check the reviews, iirc the seat also doubles as a back pack. They make a Turkey version with shorter legs also.

                        Cool idea Trumpkin!!

I've been using a Waldrop pacseat for a few years now. It actually weighs just under 5lbs, but feels much lighter and has a wonderful strap system. I hunt only from the ground and this Pac Seat is a necessity.

I'm going to have to give one of these some serious thought. I could see it being useful after watching a few videos on them.
