I've always had concerns with limbs coming apart in hot weather. I won't shoot in the evenings with is still above 100 . Anyone ever had this happen or is my OCD something that I shouldn't be worried about. Looking like October going to be hot. A co worker brought his grandad's old bear Kodiak to work it was strung in his pickup in 100 degree day. Told me it had been strung for 20 years. I couldn't believe it didn't blow up

I've been concerned about shooting on hot days out in the sunshine for extended periods of time. Black glass limbs really get hot! I've never had a bow delaminate from heat, though. I keep a half dozen bows strung up out in my shop. The room is insulated but not climate controlled. When we get the 114 degree days, I try to go out and unstring the bows. I actually forgot yesterday when it hit 113.9 for awhile.
I won't shoot in the evening when it is above 100 either. I'm watching the thermometer now. It is 100.5 with less than an hour to sunset.

It was 113 on Saturday and 107 on Sunday, where we shot last weekend. Part of our rounds on Sunday were in direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day, and we didn't have any issues. I had glass limbs on one recurve and Diamondbacks on the longbow. The shooters took more of a beating than the bows, lol.
